I press home button, then a task manager appears. By keep holding it, I click back button to close the task manager. I still hold home button down and press power button to capture a screenshot. If you use Gingerbread, it should work by this way, unless your default OS from Samsung has been modified.

Hi Vernice. I use GoLauncher. GoLauncher enables you to change your phone theme and customize it. It’s a free application so you can download it directly from Android Market.
well, I also can’t hear the ringtone through my headset when there is incoming call, but the phone will be ringing. I can hear music and notification through headset. Make sure you plug your headset fully. Sorry I can’t help you about this problem. Ask the phone technician where you buy the phone or ask Samsung Help Center.
okey.. there is no configurable option that we can use to change the settings on the phone to be able to hear the ringtone on the call while on the headset
1. It might be the headset is the issue
2. Possible that you are using a music headset and not the dual headset that can be used for calling.
The post above is method for samsung home android desktop launcher. doesn’t work on other desktop launcher apps such as ADW.Launcher even you’re using samsung galaxy ace.
Thank you for your additional information. I don’t use samsung home android dekstop launcher neither. I use GoLauncher and this method works well. Maybe there’s an exception for ADW.Launcher case :-p
Correction: Somehow ADW laucher could and samsung home can’t. Some apps can’t capture the screen and some can. Because when holding the back button, some apps directly back to other page.
When I hold de back button before entering my whatsapp chat en select the chat that I want a screencapture of, my chat closes automatically because I’m holding the back button… So I still am unable to capture my whatsapp chat.

I don’t know how, with your photos, but i use an app that provides free cool hd wallpapers, and when you apply one of their wallpapers, the background doesn’t get cropped.
It worked by holding down back key and power off button. If you are doing a screen shot in an application, the back key will exit you from some apps, but not all. You receive a screen confirmation indicating that your image has been saved. I had to download FroYo 2.2 and I am using a Samsung Galaxy S
You dont need to hold the back button, if you press BOTH back and home, at the same time (You have to press them both at the same time, quickly), the screenshot will be taken. This is using 2.3.4 stock rom.
I can confirm this is correct. I did a google search after noticing the screen capture folder on my Samsung Galaxy Cooper (Ace) and I can confirm that you can press the back and home buttons at the same time, without having to press one, then the other. You may have to practice a few times to get it to where you can press both simultaneously.

Hey thanks! Now my mobil can do the same things as my ipod :p .. Quite sad cuz ive already paid for my ipod .. It looks like crap compared to this samsung galaxy ace now..sad.. Tho the grafics are better on ipod and its faster plays better music quality n such, but it works great for me. And its cheaper then a iphone :j

First I held down the “back” button and then the “home”-button (and that works at other places but not in messages) but in messages i only got back to the list of messages. (i want to capture a conversation) and then i read here and held down the “back” button on the screen before the conversation i wanted to capture, and while holding down back-button i tapped the screen with another finger to get to the conversation i want to capture and then i pressed the “home”-button, but then it just get back to the list of messages again or in some cases it goes to my home screen.
i hope you understand, i’m swedish so my english are’nt the best.
I understand what you mean. Actually, we have to press Home button and Back button at the same time to capture screenshot. But that’s quite hard to do, so it’s easier to to do it by holding back button first. I did the second way successfully. If you really need to capture your message conversation, but you can’t do it this way, maybe you could try to do it with additional application such as Screenshoter Trial, Screenshot from Kastor Soft, or Screenshot it Trial.

I’ve accidentally taken a screen shot on my Galaxy Ace. I knew it because of the camera sound, then the ScreenCapture folder. But I didn’t find how to do it again. Thanks!
Ok I got a simple lets say solution, at least for more then 1 screenshot (SS). Press and hold BACK KEY then press the POWER BUTTON, this will black aka lock your screen, to unlock it dont like you do the HOME BUTTON but the POWER BUTTON. now you can navigate to the applivation you want to capture, now press the HOME BUTTON each time you press it it will take a SS for you. When you have unlocked your screen DONT PRESS the BACK BUTTON because it removes the SS ability from HOME BUTTON. Tested on gingerbread 2.3.4
Nop it dosent work on 2.2.1 i tried it few minutes ago. it works on 2.3.3 and 2,3,4 . Sorry about that. no one tried it on different samsung mobiles ???

All the time I was wondering what could have I done on my phone that there were times I could hear a click that when I check my Gallery Folder, the screen capture was there. P.S. Actually, I did not have to download any additional apps anymore like those you can search on the Internet . I just followed the simple instruction > press HOLD and HOME keys together< . Then, it was done. Clever. Thanks again, dude.

(home) u ll get task manager openend… keep holding the home button and press the back button ( to the home button’s right) .. the task manager will exit.. now press the power button.. and bingo.. u get the screenshot hope it helps

On a Samsung Ace running Gingerbread I found that in some screens if Back + Home does not work, just change the sequence to Home + Back….and it works

Hold home button, just hold it. The Task manager will appear. Then, tap back button to close it. Finally press power button. Now you can release home button. It should work on Galaxy Ace Gingerbread.

It also happens to me. After Task Manager appears, click Back Button to close it by keep holding Home Button.

How do I uninstall that app? Everything changed after downloading that so now I don’t even know how to use my own phone!
Uninstall GoLauncher? Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> Select GoLauncher -> Uninstall.

I don’t use additional application to set my background wallpapaer. My phone can handle it well

after you installed it. Go Launcher Ex should be on your application list. Just tap on it to activate it.

I’m sorry Ryan, I cant help you. Check to the settings in the Messaging. There are some MMS configurations there (Message Center, Creation Mode, etc).

I don’t know how to do it with GoLauncher. I set my ringtone without any additional application. I only use GoLauncher to change my phone menu view

If it is not working for you, try holding down the back button and pressing the power button. the back + home didnt work for me but this does!

you should be able to do it by the steps I describe above. Hold home button, go to opera, and press the power button (for Gingerbread user).

Whenever i hold home+Back+POwer, the phone is simply unlocked
